Global E-Commerce Fulfilment Centre

This Global E-Commerce Fulfilment Centre is operating a 600,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility in Ireland. The site forms part of a global estate with strong sustainability targets focused on water conservation, carbon reduction and operational efficiency.

Challenge

The E-Commerce Fulfilment Centre needed to maintain strict L8 compliance across a large, high-usage facility while reducing unnecessary water, energy and labour waste.

  • Weekly manual flushing of 200+ outlets
  • Over 10 labour hours per week dedicated to compliance activity
  • 80,000+ litres of water discharged to wastewater each month
  • Approximately 50% of flushed volume was heated water
  • Limited data insight into actual stagnation risk
  • ESG targets requiring measurable reductions in water and carbon

Solution

CreevX deployed a smart water management solution across the 600,000 sq. ft. warehouse, installing stagnation and temperature monitoring devices to provide continuous visibility of water system performance.

The platform collects data every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, automatically identifying outlets at genuine risk of stagnation. A weekly “Manual Flush Required” report replaced blanket flushing protocols with targeted, data-led intervention.

This intelligent approach ensured compliance was maintained - while significantly reducing unnecessary water discharge, hot water reheating and labour-intensive manual processes.

Results

The implementation has successfully delivered:

Improved sustainability credentials
Over 750,000 litres of water conserved in 10 months, including more than 390,000 litres of hot water.

Improved business resilience
Greater compliance visibility, identification of hidden maintenance issues, and stronger ESG reporting confidence.

Summary

In summary, water hygiene incidents, such as Legionella, could impact business resilience in the short, medium and long term, and individual directors can be held legally liable, often without insurance or warranty protection. Corporate water hygiene responsibilities therefore require board-level visibility and sponsorship to ensure that damage of this magnitude to an organisation’s financial, customer, and regulatory reputation, as well as overall well-being, is avoided.

Testimonials

“CreevX certainly delivered on the impressive ESG benefits they forecasted at the start of the installation. It provides richer compliance insight, too.
We were impressed that it uncovered maintenance issues that would have been difficult for us to discover without access to the data they’ve been collecting. We now have confidence and fantastic insight into the health of the water within our building.”
